Internet Search Continues...

I seem to spend hours a day on the internet now. Looking...looking...looking for??? Hopefully, I will find that ??? soon. I am trying to determine how I can use my technical skills and experiences to help the aging baby boomers in this "internet" age. I have come to take my technical skills for granted and don't always grasp how difficult and scary the internet can be to people. I do know one thing about the internet - information overload. There is so much information on everything and anything....blogging, videos, forums, news. It can be so much to try and take in for a newbie.

And then there is my 4-year-old granddaughter - she can login to her dad's laptop and pull up and play the various games, she knows how to operate the DirecTV remote to record and replay her favorite cartoon shows and she has a Nintendo DS which you cannot pry from her tiny little hands. What do you suppose is in store for her technology future?? Should be interesting.

MYVMTeam

Well, it has been a few weeks. There is so much information to look at on the internet, it is overwhelming. I did however, come across a group called MYVMTeam. It is a group of people like me, trying to make sense of the internet. They share ideas and their successes in their online businesses. Their fearless leader, Coach Jim Cobb, has a blogtalk radio show several times a week with new ideas and guest speakers that are helping get my online business plan together. Check out MYVMTeam. It is totally FREE to join. Now that is really nice, FREE, I mean. Until next time...

Internet Marketing

What is that? I am reading all sorts of articles on internet marketing. Seems like the possibilities are endless. Everybody has a product to help me figure it out, but the secret seems to be choosing the product that will actually work. I will be researching a few this week and let you know what I find.

FREE online business

So many "business opportunity" websites. AAAGGGGHHH!! However, to my delight, I have found an excellent program to try. The best part, it is FREE - no, really and truly FREE. It is MyPowerMall and it appears to be a sight that really wants to help people with no strings. So very refreshing. I joined it to raise funds for my 8-year-old grandson, Tanner, who is recovering from brain cancer. I enjoy shopping and with the price of gas, I have decided to turn to online shopping to save some money. MyPowerMall has thousands of stores like Macy's, Target, Best Buy to name a few. And the best part is I get rebates on everything I buy. This will be a very win-win for me.

But, I'm still researching how to better promote MyPowerMall on the internet. Any ideas on free advertising?

Online Business

I had no idea that there were so many "business opportunities" on the web. It is amazing. And the prices to join are equally amazing. How does one determine what is legitimate or not. I would hate to spend the little money I have buying into these "business opportunities". Everybody has the "secret" to incredible wealth on the internet with little or no work. Sorry, my cynical side says no way. I won't believe that you do not work and you will just have money rolling in the door.

I'm spending the next week doing some in depth research and hope to find a really good and honest opportunity on the internet...will keep you posted.

I need a change

I didn't realize it had been so long since I started this blog. Life on my plantet has certainly changed. I spent countless hours reading other blogs with total fascination on what the "everyday" person will share online.

I don't know about you, but I need a positive change in my life. I'm so tired of working for a buck or two, not being appreciated and belittled by my boss frequently. There has to be more. I have decided to try and find a way to start an online business. Yeah, it sounds crazy to me, too. But, I really would like some flexibility in my life to enjoy it before it's gone. Ideas out there?

What is blogging all about

Blog - defined by Webster's Dictionary "Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer". I have kept journals before, but who wants to read about me? Still the concept is interesting to a point. But, what happened to real people? Blogging puts you in a sea of anonymity where people read my thoughts, feel a connection and a need to respond. Have we gotten so busy today that it is easier to make friends we may never meet or really know. What do you think?
