What is blogging all about

Blog - defined by Webster's Dictionary "Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer". I have kept journals before, but who wants to read about me? Still the concept is interesting to a point. But, what happened to real people? Blogging puts you in a sea of anonymity where people read my thoughts, feel a connection and a need to respond. Have we gotten so busy today that it is easier to make friends we may never meet or really know. What do you think?

It's another great opportunity to get knowledge and know people that one day I am looking forward to meeting. It will happen because the vision is in place with everyone at FriendsWinUniversity. It is in our future. We wouldn't have had if it weren't for our blogs. We're going to know a lot about one another and probably be able to pick each other out of a gathering and know a lot about one another without having to ask... We'll just be able to go where we left off in the blogs that were written and really have some great discussions. I think there are so many possibilities for every one and potential. A blog can be impersonal unless it is encouraged by the writer to interact. Which is what you have done. I think you will see blogging coming alive and when you ask your audience to participate with their ideas, the words will catch on fire.

The internet is finally coming of age, bowing to the will of those who "feed" it. It's becoming a true medium of communications, and now it's made it possible to not only get to know people we would not otherwise have ever met, but to actually form the bond of true friendship with them. If you stop and think about it for a minute it can really boggle the mind just what can be accomplished by a relatively small group with a sense of unity of purpose and focus on a common goal. Yes, exciting times indeed! I look forward to the time when we can all meet face-to-face, all knowing more about each other than our next-door neighbors on the streets where we live. Perhaps that's the next frontier.

Many times we find that our best friends may be people that we never meet face-to-face. That's the beauty of being able to connect through the internet

Hi Cheryl - it is possible to make friends with people without ever meeting them, but my best friends are those that I am able to interact with and seeing them face-to-face in social settings.

Good thoughts Cheryl. For those of us who don't get out and socialize much, it is a great way to meet people. Especially if you think differently the the run of the mill Joe or Jill! It's a lot easier to find like minded people on the www.

Cheryl, some may find it easier to connect thru blogs than in person. This is certainly not meant to be a replacement to relationships, but does provide a way to overcome distance and time

It certainly can be easier, at least for me, to meet and interact with people online. Plus you can meet people almost anywhere on this planet.
